The Bodo Agreement, also known as the Bodo Peace Accord, is a historic agreement signed in 2020 between the Government of India, the Assam government, and the Bodo community after prolonged unrest and insurgency in the state. Thirdly, the Accord provides for the formation of a Special Protection Group (SPG), which will be responsible for the security of the Bodo community. The SPG will be a paramilitary force that will ensure the safety and security of the Bodo people and their properties.
